Dr. Călin Ladasiu is a chemical engineer and has been working in the Renewable-Photovoltaic Energy Laboratory (LERF) since 2020.
Before LERF he worked both in industry (ExxonMobil, Shell - Australia) and in academia (Australia, Germany, Romania).
Has skills in chemical analysis methods - UV / VIS spectroscopy, infrared (FT-IR, DRIFT, PAS, ATR, micro-ATR, H-ATR), NMR, MALDI-TFO-MS, DIOS-MS, chromatography - TLC, GC, HPLC, thermal analysis TGA, DSC, development of analytical methods and validation.
He also has experience in photocatalysis - titanium dioxide photocatalysts for water purification, Dion-Jacobson layered perovskite photocatalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen production.
During his doctoral years (University of South Australia, Australia) he studied the degradation mechanism of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) during melt processing and synthesized and investigated new types of stabilizers for the material. During his postdoctoral fellowship (Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany) he studied photocatalysts based on Dion-Jacobson layered perovskites for the photocatalytic production of hydrogen - water splitting.
